Best printers are LASER, but if you want an all within 1 printer, get any, it's not similar to there is a huge difference between adjectives those models.
What you are going to use it for will determine the best. If photo or high ability printing, you want good numbers for the output. If scan, there you will want obedient numbers., The Okidata and HP units are moderately useable in most cases. Go to a retailer, including a Office supply stores to check features and prices. Watch for ad by local retailers for best price.
There are definitely several factor in choosing a printer.

If your current printer is using a single Black/Color videotape, consider the amount of internal space for ink storage versus a printer that has one individual tape specifically for black and another for the three colors. The two cartridge system is going to hold alot more black versus the single tape system. Several printers on the market immediately that are two cartridge printers will also hold a special cartridge for printing pictures, it's another color tape that you swap out for the black when solely printing pictures. This second color cartridge allows the printer to print pictures beside more depth and detail, you just own to remember when to put it in, and to nick it out when you are done and replace it with the black for conventional printing.
as far as ink usage goes yes...instead of have to use all the colors to create black you own a separate cartridges for black and color. So if you do more printing in support and white a two cartridge system will recover you money in the long run on ink..if you do more color photo printing consequently it won't matter as much
I don't know for i.e. what I have but I do photos to. I would turn to the store and compare the cost of cartridges and cost of printers, the printed copy.

Sites approaching MyInk and 00inkjets, which sell generic-brand printer ink for almost $5... do they work as well as any other ink cartridges?

From what I hold read they work really well.The single negative some ethnic group would say is that most of these cartridges do not hold an archival rating.Some companies like Canon guarantee that If you use their ink for printing out photos it will still be as dutiful as when first printed out 100 years after the picture is printed.My cousin ordered with this company a couple weeks ago and they similar to their products do far.Good Luck

No they don't work as okay, they use inferior ink that is not impossible to tell apart grade as the manufacture ink cartridges, why do you think they solely charge you $5, because their ink sucks, and isn't guaranteed to work.



I tried 123inkjets and one of the cartridges they sent me exploded in my printer which destroyed it, so I other buy manufacturers ink cartridges, yes they cost more, but if one damages your printer the capitalist will repair or replace the printer due to it being inventive equipment and parts that were used. Once you use an stale brand cartridge it will invalid your warranty on your printer.

Walgreens offer printer cartridge refill. It's $10 for black and $15 for color. They say they use one and only high element inks. Is this true or is it better to just move about have the relinquish ink cartridge recycled at Staples and buy a alien cartridge?

If your printer isn't below warranty its ok, I've had bleak experiences with fill cartridges leaking and destroying a printer so I will never use refill cartridges. Plus they don't have a appropriate of a quality of ink any regardless of their advertisements their ink is knowhere to hand the quality of the manufacturer.



Do not buy electronics, or ink from staples either their electronics don't closing (handling issues from their warehouse to the sales floor are careless). I go through countless electronics from their stores and finally went to a different department supply store and purchased the same piece of equipment and haven't have a single issue with it. Their ink is cheap and smears confidently.

Unless it comes with both a money put a bet on guarantee and free service of your printer if it leaks (which it won;t) do not buy refill cartridges unless your printer is so old that you cannot take new ones (then a up to date printer would be an idea).
Well if you do it yourself, its usually messy, even if they say its not on the box. If cost is an issue (as it is for me) purloin it down to the store, or mail it within, for the professional to refill it. It cost a touch more but definitely worth it.
I tried one on my printer the black worked fine, but the color ones be a different shade and the prints looked kind of chance.

when I try to print rotten of microsoft Word, on my iBook G3, I keep getting this error message: Word cannot print due to a problem beside the current printer I have tried everything I can muse of to fix this problem, I have tried to print stale a different printer, and it didn't work. I changed the default printer 2wice. I also tried to print sour a webpage in safari, and it give me another error message. What is wrong with it? It be working fine a couple days ago! and I haven't changed anything!

try downloading the *combo* updater to 10.4.9 that is appropriate for your model of Mac from www.apple.com/support/download... and apply it. Sometimes purely reapplying the combo updater fixes things. Also, you didn't mention using Disk Utility to Repair Permissions; doing this may also help.
