What details should i know in the region of laser printers?

a customer i be working for was clearing out her subterranean vault and gave me a Brother HL-1440 laser printer. nil real great, i know. but what are the ground rules i should know about these printers? i estimate they are a lot different from owning an inkjet. how do i access the toner tape? where can i carry toner? just describe me what things are different from inkjets.

What details should i know in the region of laser printers?

The technical differences between inkjets and lasers are probably too numerous to detail here but roughly inkjets are just that, printers that use microscopic ink droplets to create an photo where as a laser printer uses toner which is similar to fine powder that is fused to the tabloid with a drum.

The most important thing to look for when buying a laser printer is the duty cycle (how abundant copies per month) toner cost etc.

There is a good review of the Brother HL1440 at http://reviews.cnet.com/laser-printers/b... and for a flawless general rundown on lasers budge to http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/index.php/...

Also note that the HL 1440 is a black and white printer solitary.color lasers are quite expensive.
the ink is intensely expensive
they are very cost effectual. the toner is expensive, but lasts for thousands of copies. They also use a drum which is tremendously expensive but may last up to five toner tape changes. If the mechanism requires you to change the drum like a shot, you may want to buy a new printer.
