What is user mode driver ? and how to host user mode driver on window NT 4.0 basis systems.?

How get your hands on the particular user mode printer driver, OR make a purchase of a user mode printer driver that is compatible beside the kernel mode printer driver that is hosted on the Windows NT 4.0-based computer?

Hi Squid,

First I am amazed that you contacted me directly on this, which is probably the solely way that this cross-question would have attracted my attention. Vista is so exotic that I am still learning the tech sides of it. As okay I do not use NT, though XP is primarily based on it, and that I own good communications next to.

Your best source for the needed drivers, aside from going to the manufacturer's site, is at http://www.driverguide.com It would have help to know the brand of printer, but that really isn't necessary. I do know that HP have a great utility for setting up their printers in a network environment that will do most of the work for you.

While at Driverguide, be sure to get the greatest rated drivers for your OS and the printer model. I am not sure if you will find anything at hand, but they have a database of over 400,000 drivers, and tons manufacturers post them nearby rather than on their own sites first, for public feelings. Be sure to also read the comments from the publisher to see if it states your specific driver or something compatible.

Another resource that may be of help is http://www.theeldergeek.com which is loaded near all kind of information on XP and I would imagine Vista by immediately.

Hope this helps
